vcdisk.vcdisk_thinexp(r, md, rd)

Circular velocity of an infinitely thin exponential disk. See [Freeman70], Eq. (10).

Parameters
  • r (float or list or numpy.ndarray) – radii in \(\rm kpc\).

  • md (float) – disk mass in \(\rm M_\odot\).

  • rd (float) – exponential scale-length of the disk in \(\rm kpc\)

Returns

1-D array (same shape as r) of the circular velocities in \(\rm km/s\).
